Having been founded in 1909, the Mendelssohn Club of Albany is celebrating its 100th Anniversary in 2009. In recognition of this very special occasion, the Board of Directors has established a 100th Anniversary Honorary Committee and the $100 for the 100th Campaign. I invite you to join in this important initiative to support the Club. As the longest continuously performing arts organization in the Capital Region we have a long and proud tradition. An unfortunate reality in today's financial climate is that it is difficult for the Club to sustain itself solely on income from subscribers and concert ticket sales. Therefore, we are undertaking a number of fundraising initiatives, and the $100 for the 100th is a new and unique opportunity to support the Club on the occasion of its centennial anniversary. I humbly ask for your support and hope you will join the Honorary Committee with a tax-deductible donation of $100.00 or more. Your donation will help to ensure a successful centennial celebration and strengthen our financial foundation so we can continue to be a viable and valuable part of the area's arts scene for another 100 years. An Honorary Committee form can be found here. Please print the form and mail it, along with your donation, to the address listed on the form. I want to thank you for any support you have given the Club in the past and I thank you in advance for your support now. I hope you can join us at our Holiday Concert on December 11, 2009 at The Egg, in the Empire State Plaza. This concert concludes our 100th Anniversary Season. Thank you, Michael Palumbo President, the Mendelssohn Club of Albany
